This week, LG finally announced their new smartwatch that we’ve been long waiting for. LG announced two variants of the watch ,the LG “Watch Sport” & the “Watch Style”. They are now available to order at Google Store and also at Best Buy.
Both trendy in their own way, the “Watch Style” is more for people who prefer a daily smart watch to keep up with the gadgetry world while the “Watch Sport” is more of an athletic gadget.
Here is what the “Watch Sport” & “Watch Style has to offer,
LG Watch Sport
-
Design & Compatibility
Despite being a sports watch, you can wear it in or out of the gym and still look elegant, that’s how great the design is. Compliments aside, the Watch Sport comes in two beautiful colors, “Titanium” & “Dark Blue”. Both colors rock a matte steel casing and a watch band of the respect color.
Unlike the Watch Style, the watch bands cannot be switched and thus you are bound to only one but then again it’s a watch built for your workouts not your daily life glamour.
The watch band is made of high grade TPU to absorb and annihilate all of that gym sweat. Nonetheless the Watch Sport is waterproof up to 5 feet for 30 minutes which may or may not be convenient depending on your way of use.
-
Screen & Battery
The Watch Sport has a beautiful round OLED screen (1.38″) with a clear and fantastic resolution. The watch also supports “always-on” mode that shows you your fitness progress and whatnot. This however drains the battery but with a 430mAh battery, you can go on a day without charging your watch twice or thrice (depending on your usage).
The Watch Sport also has auto brightness to dim or enhance the watch’s brightness depending on the indoor-outdoor conditions.
-
Price
Okay let’s just admit it that the Watch Sports is expensive but it’s also a lot better than most of the smart watches on the market. The Watch Sports incorporates the latest Android Wear 2.0 OS debuted on the watch itself which makes it more exciting to cope.
The Sport Watch can set you back nearly $349 which is a bit expensive but then again there’s a lot that the watch offers.
-
More about the Watch
The Sport Watch also offers the standard heart rate monitor, a nano-sim for calls, NFC, Android Pay and the LTE support. So for a price tag of $349 it’s totally worth it if you’re into smartwatches.
LG Watch Style
As the Name suggests, this variant of the LG watch focuses on looks experience instead of fitness and it is sleeker than the Watch Sport. However it lacks many of the additional features on the Watch Sports.
Nonetheless, here is what the Watch Style has to offer,
-
Design
The Watch Style has a similar body design as the Watch Sports, like the Watch Sports, it also rocks a beautiful round matte stainless steel bezel but a bit slimmer and sleeker than the Watch Sport. Also you can choose from a variety of Watch Bands depending upon what suits your style. The Watch Style is IP67 water & dust resistant however we don’t suggest you go on swimming or take a shower with it.
-
Screen & Battery
LG has made the Watch Style smaller as compared to the Watch Sport to make it more sleek but hasn’t compromised on performance which is why the LG Watch Style has a 1.2″ OLED screen.
Style Watch has a 240mAh battery which is indeed very small to add in a watch with so much to offer but as long as it gets through the day it’s fine. Although you’ll have to worry about charging your watch every now & then and that’s where the Watch Sport takes lead.
-
Price
With many features of the Watch Sport missing, we expect the Watch Style to be cheaper than the Watch Sport. And at $249 it’s nearly $100 cheaper than it’s Sport variant.
