There are a number of people who prefer their phones to stay alive for extended time period. The satisfaction of the users by meeting their maximum demands is always the top priority of the companies. With the passage of time, Samsung has introduced a number of advanced features in their android mobile phone. The alluring screen colors and the high pixel density has also forced the users around the globe to praise the company. The problems with the bigger screens and the enhanced screen resolution also forced the user to suffer from the shorter battery life of the mobile phones. The problem of getting irritated by the lower battery timings has forced the company to introduce the larger batteries in the phones. Galaxy S7 has been loaded with the 3000mAh battery which is remarkably bigger than the Galaxy S6. The additional pixels in the screen and the high performing processors usually consume the handsome battery for smooth operation. Hence results in reduced battery timings.

There are a number of wise practicalities and the efficacious habits that can bring good to the battery timing of the Galaxy s7. There are a number of things which when implemented practically ensures the enhanced battery timing of the phone. For your ease, we have mentioned some smart tricks that can save you from charging your phone again and again.

1. Keep looking for the battery hungry mobile apps

There are a number of apps in your Galaxy s7 that are continuously absorbing the handsome portion of your phone’s battery even when you are not using your phone. Sometimes the specific apps installed in your phone drain battery faster. These apps can be easily detected by checking the phone settings and diagnosing the problematic apps. The status bar of your phone will be highlighting the major apps that are catalyzing this problem. So keeping an eye on these apps can bring productive results.

2. Disable the unused apps

The other way to improve your galaxy s7 battery is by disabling the unused apps. There might be some apps in your phone that have become outdated. Leaving them on your phone is forcing the battery to power them. So uninstalling the unwanted apps can bring the good to your phone’s battery life.

3. Turn on the radios like wifi, Bluetooth only when you need it

There are a number of people who prefer their phone’s features to be kept ON all the time. The radios like Bluetooth and wifi are usually kept ON even in the time of no need. The phone forces the battery to power these unused features all the time which diminish the battery life of your Galaxy S7. Turning these radios ON only when you need them can enhance the battery life of your phone.

4. Use power saving mode

Power saving mode is also an efficient tool for enhancing the battery life of Galaxy S7. This feature allows the power only to the essential apps which in return save a lot of battery for the real application.

5. Display Settings

Although Samsung Galaxy S7 has an awesome display it actually consumes a large part of your battery. You can change some display settings to improve the battery performance.
Go to the Settings and change your screen brightness a little bit. Lowering screen brightness will save some battery life.
Lower the screen time out. Your display screen doesn’t use power when it is off. Also consider turning on the smart stay option.

It looks so odd when you are in the middle of an important conversation or meeting, and your phone keeps on buzzing with a tone. It is obvious that Smart-phone is the best companion and it keeps on reminding us of important events. But sometime you check your phone thinking that you may have missed something important, but it’s just an application update notification or a game notification. Most of the time there are messages from apps which you do not need or don’t care about. If you are not a technical sort of person then this article will show you how to disable notifications from any app in Android.

Research about notifications

The recent studies have shown that notifications can ruin the concentration of human beings. Nature of notifications, even if it is a small beep or the tone, just does not matter, but it creates a disruptive performance. The behavior is not restricted to the smart-phone users but is found in all mobile/tablet users. So here is the guide on how to disable notifications from any app in Android phones.

Blocking the notifications

The blocking of notifications depends on the version of Android you have on your Smartphone. There are two ways of turning off notifications from any application.

Android 5 or higher

If your phone is having Android 5 or up then it is very easy to change the settings.

• Just go to “Settings” and find a tab “Sound and Notification” and then click on app notifications. The sequence will be as follows
• Settings > Sound and Notification > App notifications
• You will see all apps installed or downloaded on your phone. Tap the application which you need to stop. Click on the Block and the application will never show the notifications.

Android 4.1 or 4.4

If you do not have lollipop Android, then you can still stop getting the notifications but process is a little different. If you are using the Android 4.1 or 4.4 (Jelly Bean or KitKat) then follow the method to block the notifications.

• Go to the Settings then click the Apps tab.
• A list of applications will appear. Just click on the application from which you do not want to receive the notifications.
• Uncheck the “Show notifications” box.

Android 4.0 or older

If you are using an old Android smart phone with sandwich OS or haven’t updated your phone OS, then there is no specific way to disable notifications. Upgrading the OS of your phone is wise. However, you can still block notifications. When you receive the notification from an app, just long press the notification. An “i” will appear. Just tap on that “i.” By tapping, it will take you to the settings. Just, uncheck the show notifications option.

PowerCfg is an awesome tool on Windows which can be used to optimize power management settings and can also generate detailed HTML reports for Windows 7,8 and 10.

Start the Command Prompt window to use this tool. To open CMD on Windows 8,8.1 and 10, you have to right click in the bottom left corner of your screen or press Windows key + X and choose Command Prompt (Admin). For Windows 7 users, click on Start, find the Command Prompt shortcut or type CMD in search box, right click the CMD and choose “Run as Administrator” option.

View Your Computer’s Sleep States:

You can check whether your PC supports sleep and standby states by using PowerCfg commands below

powercfg /a

Type the above command in the Command Prompt window. It will give you a list of the sleep states that are available on your system like Standby, Hibernate, Hybrid Sleep etc. It will also show which standby states are not supported by your system. States from S1 to S4 show how deeply your system can sleep, S1 is dozing and S4 is hibernation.
Some Windows 8.1 devices supports Connected Standby state. This state allows you to turn your PC off while you can still receive email, VOIP calls, play music etc. After typing above command if it shows that your computer supports “Standby (connected) then you can get the SleepStudy report by typing the following command.

powercfg.exe SleepStudy

An HTML file named Sleepstudy-report.html will be created which you can see by going in the specified directory location. SleepStudy gives information for every connected standby session. Information shows active time, idle time, power consumed etc. By default, Sleep study show report of last 3 days of system operation. To change the duration you can specify it after /duration command. Maximum days sleep study report can cover is 28. To create report of last seven days use the following command

powercfg.exe SleepStudy /duration 7

Create Energy Report:

Use the following command to create an energy report.

powercfg /energy

The above command will observe your PC’s behavior for 60 seconds and then will generate a detailed report outlining the issues that are draining your battery. Try to solve the issues outlined in the report to extend your battery life.

Create Battery Report – Windows 8+:

Want to know what RAM your system is using or what CPU or OS version is installed on your PC or laptop? What is your graphics card memory and whether you can run a specific game or not? Or you are looking to buy or sell a laptop and want to know the system specifications? Having exact system specification will be helpful in whatever situation you are in. This guide will show you how to check the specifications of your PC or laptop.

How to view system Specs in Windows:

To check specification for Windows 8 drag your mouse to top right or bottom right corner of the screen to get the charm bar.Select Settings and then PC info. It will show your PC or laptop specifications.
Alternatively open control panel then go to System and Security and then open System to see specifications.

For Windows 7 and Windows XP/Vista, right click on My Computer and then click on Properties(System Properties in Windows XP). A window will open where you can see your system’s specifications (in Windows 7). For Windows XP look for System in the Properties window.

You will be able to see your OS, processor and memory. OS will tell you which Windows version you are using, whether it is 32-bit or 64-bit. Processor will show your specific processor model and will show the speed of the CPU. Memory will show how much RAM is installed on your PC or laptop. Having more RAM will increase your system performance.

The above procedure will show the basic system specification but it will not show what graphic card your system is using. For some of you graphic card may not matter much if you use your PC for internet browsing or office work etc. However if you play video games then you may want to know whether a certain game will work or not on your system. To check for graphics card open PC info (Windows 8) and Properties/System Properties (Windows 7/XP/Vista) using the same method mentioned above.

Now all you have to do is to go the Device Manager and then click on Display Adapters. It will show you what graphics card your system is using.

There is another method which you can use to see your system specification, graphics card memory, audio card and input devices. Click on start and open “Run”. Type DxDiag and hit enter. Or simply type dxdiag in search after clicking on start and then click on dxdiag after the search finishes. It will provide you with the detailed information about the DirectX components and drivers installed on your system. Your BIOS version, DirectX verion, CPU,Memory, OS, Display and audio driver details will be available in the DirectX Diagnostic Tool that will open after typing dxdiag.

How to view Mac Specifications:

To view the system specification in Mac, click on the Apple icon and select “About this Mac”.

iMessage was introduced in iOS 5 and become very popular as it provides you with the ability to synchronize your communication between multiple devices. For example, if you have received an iMessage on your iPhone, the same message will appear on your Mac as well. But some users face problems with iMessage because of synchronization issues betwee their iPhone, iPad and Mac. In this article we will show you how you can fix iMessage sync issues.

How to Fix iMessage Syncing Issues:

You can be reached on iMessage through your phone number or email addresses. Usually the phone number is linked to your iPhone and email address is your Apple ID email address. You have the option to add more email addresses to receive and send iMessages.
When you add a new email address to iMessage make sure it is active. If it is not active then iMessages will not synchronize between devices. So make sure that all of your email addresses are active by checking settings of your Mac, iPhone and iPad.
On your iPhone or iPad, open “Settings” then go to “Messages” then tap on “Send & Receive” and then look under “you can be reaced by iMessage at”. Make sure all the email addresses you use for iMessage are active.
To check whether email address or phone number is active or not on your Mac go to Messages > Preferences > Accounts and make sure all the email address and numbers which you want to use for iMessage are checked.

All email addresses/phone numbers should be active on all of your devices for proper synchronization. For example if you add a new email address on your iPhone then you have to add it on your other devices (Mac, iPad etc) as well to receive messages on every device.

Sometime sending a message from a device that is not receiving messages solves the issue. For example, if you are receiving messages on your phone but are not getting any message on your Mac, then try to send a message from your Mac. After sending a message you will probably start receving all messages as well. It sounds odd but it doesnt hurt to give it a try.

For some users signing off from iMessage and then logging in back resolve the issue.
On your iPhone or iPad, open settings then go to Messags and turn off iMessage at the top and then turn it back on after a few seconds.
On your Mac, go to Messages > Preferences> Accounts, select iMessage in the left column and then tap on Sign out. Wait for a few seconds and then sign in.

Google Keyboard app does not have a dedicated numbers row on top of the keyboard as we have on our PC keyboards. If you use numbers a lot while typing then adding a numbers row will save your time and you no longer have to switch between numbers and alphabets screens of the keyboard. This tutorial will show you how we can have Google keyboard with numbers row (PC Layout).

Step by step guide to add a dedicated number row to the Google Keyboard app.

Hopefully you have Google keyboard app already installed on your phone. If not then click here to download and install the keyboard app. With the app installed lets move on with the steps of adding a dedicated number row to the keyboard.

Step 1

Open settings of the Google Keyboard. You can access the settings from the keyboard itself by pressing and holding the comma until you see the settings gear. Releasing the comma key will open the Google Keyboard settings.
OR
Go to your phone’s “Settings” and in the “Personal” section tap on “Language & input”. In “Keyboard & Input Methods” section, tap on the settings icon of the Google Keyboard.

Step 2

After opening the keyboard settings find and tap on the “Appearance & Layout” option.
From Appearance & Layout screen select “Custom input styles”.

Step 3

The screen that will open up will have German and French options of the keyboard. If you want to add another lanugage like English then click on the + button in top right corner of the screen.

Select English(US) language (or any other you prefer) and select “PC” from the layout options and finally tap on “Add”.
If you have not used cusomised input styles before then a dialog box will appear asking you to enable customised input styles. Just click on enable to enable the “Custom input styles”.

Step 4

Now from the “Languages” screen deselect the “Use system language” option under Google keyboard. From the “Active input methonds” select the English (US)(PC) option.

We have enabled our custom input style and now a dedicated number row is added to the Google Keyboard app. Next time you will open your keyboard you will see a dedicated number row similar to that on PC keyboards.

Tips to solve Google Play Store No Connection Error.

Here are the things you can try if your Google play store app is not working. Follow the tips below to solve Google Play Store No Connection errors.

Clear Play Store App Cache:

Clearing Google Play store app cache resolves no connection error in some cases. Cache temporarily stores the data which helps you to quickly access the app when you open it next time. It just makes the app to load quicker and clearing the cache will do no harm.

Here are the steps to clear the cache

Go to Settings and open the apps section.

Choose “All” apps and then find Google Play Store app.

Tap on the play store app and then tap on “Clear Cache” and “Clear Data”

Check Date and Time Settings:

Google Play store app synchronizes time and date with their servers so it is necessary that you have correct time and date on your phone. Lot of users are facing no connection issue because of incorrect date and time settings. To make sure your date and time settings are correct and time zone is properly selected go to settings > Date & Time and select Automatic Date and Time or manually set the date, time and time zone.

Login/out of your Google account:

Logging out of your Google account and then signing in again may do the trick.

Go to Settings > Accounts > Google.

Select your Google account and tap on “Remove account” in top right corner.

Restart your Smartphone and then enter Google account email and password again by going to Settings > Accounts > Add Account.

If you have changed your Google account password on your PC then you need to update it on your Smartphone as well. Logging in/out will update the password and will help Google Play app to function properly.

Uninstall Updates:

If the above fixes doesn’t work for you then try going back to the original version of the Play store app (the version which was first installed on your device). Sometime new updates don’t go well with your phone so uninstalling these updates may solve the connection issue. Go to Settings and find Google Play Store app and then tap on “Uninstall Updates”.

Delete or Edit Hosts file:

If your device is rooted then there is a simple fix which works most of the time. Open file manager and go to system/etc/hosts and open Hosts file. Insert the # symbol before second set of IP addresses (change from 127.0.0.1 to #127.0.0.1) Restart your phone, remove Google account, and add it again and problem will be solved. If editing the hosts.txt file doesn’t work then try deleting the hosts.txt file.

Factory Reset your Phone

If all of the above mentioned tips doesn’t work for you then it’s time to do a Factory Reset of your phone. Factory resetting will clear all data so make sure to have a backup of all your contacts and other important data before performing factory reset.

Go to Settings > Backup & Reset > and then tap on “Factory Data Reset” to reset your phone to the original condition.
